Default Dakota driveshaft

I have a 98 dakota ext cab v6 sport. Replacing the driveshaft. I got a driveshaft from a 2000 dakota ext. Cab v8 SLT. the driveshaft is a 1/2 in shorter. Do I need a spacer or will that still work?

You might want to have this thread moved to the 2nd Generation forum. This is the 1st Gen forum that runs from '87 - '96. Your '98 is a 2nd Gen Dakota.
