Default Weird coolant leak? Any suggestions?

I have a Dakota with the 4.7 that I got as kind of a beater but it’s been leaking coolant badly. I got a pressure tester today to see where the leak was coming from and I found it but not sure why it’s leaking from the bottom of the trans? It’s 100% coming out of that circled gap. You can see the drain plug for the oil pan right in front of it. Glad to find the leak but unsure what’s causing it. Appreciate any help

That might be where it drips from, as gravity will make it take the easiest path... probably not where it originates though. Start looking above that. Look at the water pump or maybe a freeze plug.

There are two freeze plugs inside the bell housing looks like. Also two above. If any of those popped then you found your leak.

This is the back of the engine without some of the stuff out of the way. The brass colored things are the freeze plugs.

Make sure its not spreading from the timing chain gasket or crank seal leakage area as mine was ..
As you drive it can push it back..
