Default CV axle with major clicking

Last winter I got stuck in some snow and had to put it in 4LO to get out, after which there was a loud clicking whenever the truck was driven (worst in 2wd, sometimes present in 4HI and 4LO). Parked it shortly after and finally got around to investigating. Thought at first that it was a transfer case issue so I started with pulling the front driveshaft but it seems like it’s just the CV axle on the passenger side. Is it as simple as replacing it or will there be other carnage once I pull it? Here’s a video showing what’s going on:

Oh, that's not right....... The driveshaft should turn smoothly, not notchy like what you got. There may be more going on there than just a bad axle. I would pull it, and see what you find. Ya might get lucky.

Um. Lets put this simply.

You're turning the pinion.

The CV shaft is not turning.

The front diff does not have a disconnect built-in.

You seem to have created one.
