Default Neutral safety switch problem

I'm trying to switch out my neutral safety switch on a 1998 Durango automatic two-wheel drive the indicated replacement part does not fit it seems it's too small to be threaded in the fitting on the transmission. I'm thinking maybe the transmission was changed at some point in this truck's life, or there's something else that fits does anyone have any information?

The early model transmissions used a 3-terminal thread-in sensor. (97-99)
The later model transmissions used a 5-terminal push-in sensor with a retainer bolt (01-04)

But within those two generations, there were no changed. All thread-in are the same and all push-in are the same.

As usual, 2000 can go either way depending on manufacture date.
