Default Fire/EMS

I want to hear from anyone who is volunteer fire/ems that has a 2000 - 2004 Dakota and has a wig-wag headlight and/or tail/reverse light flashers. I'm being told that using the wrong flasher units can damage the light control module. What brand/model units are you using?

Thanks
Rick

Welcome to the site Rick!

My assit chief has a 89 Dakota with the wag-wag lights I'll ask him if he has heard of anything on the newer models!
As far as my truck goes as soon as my little Code 3 becon light dies I have been debating getting strobes installed in my corner lights! We have a useless area in the corner lights (see red circle in picture) that would be perfect for strobes because they offer great visability from the front and sides and I believe they are mirrored even though there is no bulbs in there.

Just a thought and good luck!

Thanks,

I thought about corner strobes but I'm skeptical about what I consider to be skimpy clear lenses at the corners. I haven't noticed a good strong flash from other emergency vehicles(that I consider worth the $$). Maybe the ones I've seen have been under powered?? I've read that each bulb should get a full 20 watts for optimum effect. The 80 or 90 watt strobe power units tend to be a bit pricy. For now I'm going with a pair of sho-me micro lites in the grille and another pair facing out the rear window (mounted from the headliner). Still want the wig-wags.

Nice pics. Thanks.

If I did all that stuff my wife would move me and all my belongings into the rear cab.
