Default My 02 4wd suspension is shuttering a Lot at slow speed w/o breaking

just put new shocks on the front and it did nothing for the extreme effect of small shutter bumps at slow speed and once it gets started it continues and intensifies, like slowing down gradually before a full stop.........

By shuddering do you mean the steering wheel is moving back and forth rapidly? That would be an internal leak in the power steering rack.

Thanks for reply, no it's not in the steering wheel it's the front end, it is bouncing up and down in a short and fast rapid motion, like a motorcycle rear end does going over braking bumps going into a corner.

Is this while coasting down in speed without braking? Or is it during acceleration? Do you need to hit a bump first to start the process?

no brakes coasting down to 5 mph on a fire road with small shutter bumps gets it going the worst. but it happens on ruff black top decelerating and going 10 mph or less too but it's less likely to get where it seems to reach a vibration level that gets the whole front end chattering.

Check your bushings, ball joints, and make sure all the bolts are torqued down. Ball joints can be checked by lifting the front end from the frame and checking for play from pulling in the top and bottom of the tire. The bushings can be checked by using a prybar to try to force the control arms horizontally. However if they are the source you'll probably see them all torn up or missing. If all of those are fine get your truck aligned. Also check the tires and see if they are wearing uneven or have bumps or bulges. Especially if they are 5+ years old.

Ball joints are tight but the tie rods had a dangerous amount of play, I'm in Hawaii and got some nasty roads with lots of turns and steep cliffs. Haven't had this truck long. can't believe it steered as well as it did. So I'm replacing the both sides front and rear. Anyone know what size the inner rod needs, will a 27mm-42mm removal tool do the job ?
