1999 dakota 3.9l manual transmission
drove my truck to a repair shop for a clutch replacement. it was running perfect at the time. had the flywheel, clutch kit,and slave cylinder replaced. now the truck is popping and banging. didnt want them to further damage my vehicle. ive replaced the crank position sensor and it helped slightly. i also did a tune up trying to diagnose what they did. that actually made my truck run worse. any ideas to what may have caused the issue is greatly appreciated
What brand crank sensor did you install? These trucks just don't like aftermarket sensors in critical locations. Crank sensor is right there at the top of the list.
Yeah, those sensors are frequently victims of trans R&R..... some wiring behind the engine tends to get pinched as well, if the installer isn't careful.

May wanna spend the money, and get a genuine mopar sensor to put in there. Yeah, I know, those things are just all sorts of fun to change, and the mopar sensors are not inexpensive......
