No bus no start
2000 Dakota no bus
MY Dakota keeps shutting down. No bus when I try to restart. Alot of the times this happens I can pull up on the first plug cluster on the ecm and everything engages. I have error codes of 920-921-999... What do I need to do to fix this issue? Please help I am a woman trying to work on this truck.
Thank you
Amber

Moved this to the correct forum for ya.
Cluster codes are pretty useless. Basically they are telling you it can't communicate with the PCM, (no data) which is no surprise if it ain't runnin'.
If manipulating the connector at the PCM fixes it, for a while.... then there is your problem. Could try cleaning the connector (both side, harness, and PCM) some di-electric grease, and see if that solves it.

Yep, likely a damaged connector.
which connector are you manipulating? Black, White, or Gray?
Black mostly handles engine operations
White mostly handles transmission operations
Gray handles some power systems but most importantly has the Communication Buss wires on pins 27, 29, 30 which are at the forward top corner of the connector.
