99' Jeep NV3550 into 02' Dakota 4.7 2wd
I,ve read alot of forums about similar swaps but haven't gotten all the info to be confident in the swap.
I have an NV3550 for a 99 Cherokee, I understand I will need a different bellhousing on the NV3550 to bolt to the Dakota engine. What is the difference in spline count for output shaft on Jeep vs Dakota? Will the 3550 work in a 2wd application? Would I be able to find a long enough drive shaft for the combo? 2002 Dodge Dakota Sport 4.7l 2wd RFE45

Is the 3550 a one-piece casting like the 3500 though? What motor was in the jeep? If the Jeep was a 4x4, and the dak is not, I really don't think that's gonna work. At the very least, you would need a different tailshaft housing.....
