Default 03 5.9 5spd 4 brl eq hds ported comp cam (gutles)

As the title states i took a 2000 5.9 froma van put P.I.E. stg 1 eq heads thinner fel pro hd gsk comp 512 lift cam put mopar dist out of my rv with gm hei module and coil msd wires holley 750 dbl pmp a built nv 3500hd and put it in an 03 dak slt and WOW i'm not impressed ! It is sluggish not peppy at all the dist and carb are iff of my old rv and it was incredible would smoke the daullies no prob with stock 360. This is my first magnum motor i've done 340 360 318 440 400 and loved them had tunnel rams on 2 of them but this magnum is lucky if it outruns my 89 d250 5.2 4spd granny it is tuned with ngk 's gapped at 044 to match ign and have tried advancing dist doesn't help the exh is on 2.5 strait pipe and with all that I know if i pulled my 89 5.2 and put it in here it would smoke it did I miss something ??? It ran fine in the van and runs smooth as glass in this truck but stomp it and wait for the 5.9 to put you back in your seat and it never happens! Runs out on the tach no miss but no aha moment wats up???????

Could be a mixture, or timing issue. Put a sniffer in the exhaust, and see what it has to say about mixture. Go from there.

I have put three different holleys on it one came off the rv that is an la 360 and we nicked named it nasty and i stated it with a different dist and thought that was the problem and i removed the fat sping and set it up to adv like it should. I thought that might be the prob and took the whole set up dist, carb and ign mod off the rv still no diff. I put the set up back on the rv and it ran the same. I put a spreadbore 650 that i know is good on it and the same then a 750 dbl pmp then an 800 spread bore that was the only one that ran rich it had a crosswind int and i put my ed air gap on it nothing has made a diff !! Am I expecting to much from it ???? the cam came 4deg adv so i set the chain up with no adv. and it does run perfectly just not what I expected I thought it should light the tires up but hell it won't do that unless you dump the clutch , it doesn't smoke it runs at 180 it still had the cross hatches in the cyl when i changed the heads do you think he messed the heads up???/

What intake are you using??

Theoretically, that cam is designed for fuel injected motors..... though, how the gas gets into the cylinders shouldn't matter over much..... Think I would still put a sniffer on it, and see what mixture is looking like, playing with the advance curve is likely going to be necessary as well.....

I agree I've put two dif dist in it but they had the same curve put in them. I'm sorry if I forgot to say it has the ed air gap for la I had the EQ heads that have the la bolt pattern and I did port match the gasket. I drove it again today and if you try to stomp it in 1st it doesn't jump out there in low rpm's and it gets wound up but when you hit 2nd it lugs down again , it has the close ratio nv 3500hd and it shifts like an old corvette you don't have to travel far to get to 2nd lol. I'm just baffled I've never had a mopar that was so unresponsive there hasn't been any machine work done except the heads..
