Instrument cluster and ignition problem?
2000 Dodge Dakota 4.7 instrument cluster not working gauge is not working lights not working turn signal indicator and bright indicator do work. When I turn my ignition switch from run to to on or off my car sounds like it's starting and turning itself off over and over again until I take the key out. Used to have occasionally no bus on odometer and occasionally RPMs and speedometer reader would drop to nothing while driving before this happened.

When you say "sounds like it's starting" do you mean cranking over with the starter?
Could be an ignition switch issue. The ignition switch trips a relay to power the starter.
Do you have a tilt wheel? Some people have had issues with wires getting damaged over the years.

After a few days of car having security and starting issues after replacing the switch both have vanished and my gauges now work is this normal? At first they didn't work for almost 4 days and it was having issues starting now it is fine.
