Seems 87 to 91 was V8 less. What I don't understand why wasn't the 4.7HO available in them? I see the R/T's wanting stupid money for them but the 4.7HO made more HP than the 5.9. Hemi also should have been an option.
Let me the buying public decide what is "needed". The motors they put in some cars made no scene, Like a V6 in a Challenger. Why? Guess some people like driving like an old granny. Usually the ones I get stuck behind going to work. They drive like they have all the time in the world and 30 MPH is fast enough for me.
Base option affordable, the original charger/challenger had a /6 base option IIRC? I'm not sure what modern day hemi check box costs but i suppose 5-6 gran? I'm guessing insurance is cheaper to on a V6, "in theory" wont be hot rodding
I saw a possible new Dakota based on a truck currently sold in Brazil. 4 doors and tiny bed in back. Decent looking, but I'd want to see one in person first.
Thats the rampage... it is a unibody truck for the guy who doesn't need to haul heavy stuff.
Hey now ....there's a cult following for the 3rd gens...lol.....we had a lot of fun coming up with personalization's pieced together to modify our trucks since there was and still is ZERO aftermarket support for that generation. With a tuner and a few bolt ons, the 4.7 is a blast to drive and a very capable truck.
Just finished the fun on my 2002 dak... way more fun to drive & better mpg's on top of that. Yeah that was a lot of fun messing with it! I still have a set of oem sized tires ready to go on this fall/winter (current are E-rated & oversized boat anchors) and expect more mpg's out of it.
