Default Limited Slip Qeustion

Im Thincking on getting limited slip for my 2003 SXT dakota 3.9 liter manuel. I was wondering if any 1 new what axle my truck has or where i could find out? Also any suggestions on which 1 to go with like say just get the dealer to order 1 and have them instal the oem 1 or get a after market 1 and a ballpark figure of what it might cost. Thancks for any input

you can check inside of your glove compartnment, it will say what type of rear end you have or will give you a lot of 3 and 4 digit codes that can be decoded using google or other popular web brousers. also it is bad ju-ju to go to the dealer to have them install any aftermarket parts, with the possible exception of lucas oil treatnment at oil change time. Usually they'll charge you an arm and a leg for service that can be done elsewere (and by certified tech's) for a lot less.

I've also been considering limited slip for my SXT (2004), so definitely keep the info and prices coming.

most v6 dakotas have a 8 1/4 rear end. with a 5 speed tranny you likely have 3.21 gear ratio
