I never had the factory fogs but I put my own aftermarket set in.. They were 50 watts each..
The first time I needed to replace the bulb in one I installed 80 watters insted of the 50.
I had no problems with melt down but I'm sure that had to run hotter..

Factory ones are 35W. That is to meet DOT regs in most states. I wouldnt put 50W ones in since the OEM lenses are PLASTIC compared to most aftermarket ones with glass lenses. Also the wiring to the lights might not be able to safely handle a larger wattage. If you wanna try, thats your perogative. Just keep these things in mind if you decide to do it.
