Default Air Bag Light

I have a 97 Dak slt 4x4 V6, that I just bought, I knew it was in an accident before I bought it, one of the things I had to do was replace the gauge cluster, the digital mileage read out was either water damaged or possibly from the impact, the read out was only half lit and if you pushed on the gauge face it came back as long as you kept pressure on it, tried elect contact clearer, etc., no luck, so I replaced it no problem, on the original and the new implant gauge cluster, the air bag light stays on, some one said check the fuses, I did both are good, local store used a code reader (check engine light was on too), found out I had to replace the ambient temp sensor by the battery, and the down stream 02 sensor, before I take it to a dealer I thought I would ask someone at the forum. Any other possible things I could look at for the air bag light, (it dosen't show up using the code reader at Autozone) one other last thing, I have to take in in for an emissions test (Illinois), do you think the air bag light being on will be an issue or could I just take the indicator bulb out for the test?
Thanks

Default RE: Air Bag Light

Just take the bulb out. Thats not on teh emissions test anyways.

It could be that teh clockspring has an issue. Dakotas of that era (think its 97-99 that had this issue) had a recall for the clockspring causing random SRS lights.
