Will look into your air intake idea, but as for using optima batt's, I can't. The temps outdoors where I lave don't permit gel batt's. They'll freeze. I did try this though with two smaller diameter batt's, but they would not fit in bat cradle. Thought of changing cradle, but it is formed plastic with the fuse block under hood.
