rpms jump up and then plumit.
when i come to a stop rpms jump up just before complete stop and then fall down about 200 below idle, idle is about 700 to 900. rpms also jump and then fall below idle when i hit brake while in park as described in another post. any ideas why?
The first thing I would think it would be from symtoms described is a faulty fuel pump or clogged fuel system at some point. Do you get any check engine lights? If not a fuel problem, it might be one of your sensors like a map sensor, but again for it to be one of these, you should be getting a check engine light.
ok well heres the thing, i have rough idle, the rpm problem, fuel pump is loud, sometimes misses at idle, just started missing while accelerating and trans will shift funny. driving along and all of a sudden its like i floored it for like a half a second then goes back to normal. also starting to loose power. truck will die every once in a while when i come to a stop, or while im in park and barely hit gas rpms go up an then it dies. lots of problems, i know and any answers would really be helpfull. all this started after i put 31 in tires on and blew a rear speed sensor, brakes locked up and abs light came on and truck been jacked up ever since)
well fuel pump is loud and i have flowmaster and can still here it going at idle but i will try map sensor first since it is cheaper. i know one thing ill be glad when i solve this problem cause im tired of replacing spark plugs ever couple of months.
What do these bad plugs look like? Do you have a pic of them you can post? They can tell you the or at least a problem in thereselves by there condition, color, etc....?

well i will prob replace them soon but i dont a pic right now. they were mostly white but the tips were black and smelled burnt like they were getting really hot, i guess from pressing so hard on gas pedal and trying to get the truck to get up and go like when i get on freeway. after i replaced them last time truck ran ok with same problems, just not as bad. i know it is a fuel or evap problem from these and other signs but i cant narrow it down!
do you know anything about replaceing fuel filter, auto zone says its in the tank but i think its right on top were the fuel level sending unit and pump are located. i mean if pump is not in the tank then i would think the filter would not be in the tank as well. i am doing map sensor tomorrow and maybe plugs as well, if that doesnt work then i will move on to filter, crank shaft pos sensor, then pump. let me know what you think. once again i really appreciate the help with all of this stuff, been a huge help and relief, also was wondering about k&n intake of some kind to increase hp and maybe new tb or some other stuff to and power any suggestions (easy stuff first)
