body lift help
whats up guys i have a 98 dakota sport 4wd and i want to put a 2 inch body lift on it and im not sure if it will be that simple. ive heard that sometimes you have to extend parts in the engine compartment. not exactly sure what. i was wondering if anyone can help me with this. and let me know what to watch out for.
Well you might have troubles with the radiator shroud and the fan for one.
I'm not a fan of body lifts at all really, just increases the chance that the body will remove itself from the frame in an accident.

I agree w/ horatio. Body lifts are for guys who don't have the money to do it right with a suspension lift. Don't mess with it bro, you are asking for a lot of hassles with wiring harnesses, steering shaft, radiator fan to shroud clearance.

The BL's today have decent instructions and I know quite a few who've done them with little problems and like them pretty well.
But I have to agree with the others. I'd rather save the $$$ and go suspension later down the road. I've installed them in the past and it was relatively easy, but in my opinion, the vehicles never look quite as tight as without them. Alot of frame shows, body gaps, bumpers look off, etc. Personally I wouldn't do it again....but to each there own.
For every one who doesn't like them, you will find someone who will swear by them.
