ticking sound
I have a ticking noise that you can hear from the inside and out. Its a ticking sound when you accelerate and the more you accelerate the faster and louder it gets. It doesnt tick from the speed of the vehicle, just from pushing the gas pedal. My guess is its the either the transmission, a rocker arm, or the timming chain. But not sure at all.
I have the same problem in my 99 R/T. I know of onw other guy on this site that has the same problem too. There has already been a post about this but I cannot find it right now. I'll keep looking and try to let you know.

my 00 4x4 was doing that too. mine was a cracked jba header and my front drivers side axle was bad, the end that went into the diff was stripped. it was funny the bad axle noise was louder than the cracked header.
I had the same problem on my 00. Take the intake tube off, Shine a flashlight in the throttle body with the butterflys open. If you see oil down there, Then the intake gasket is blown. I work at chrysler, This was a common problem on the daks, It causes that ticking sound especialy under a load. Hope this helps !!!!
duelsxt,
The intake gasket thing, would that also explain excessive oil lose?
My 98 V6 has the same ticking noise. Haven't checked the throttle body yet, but my engine does misteriously go through alot of oil. Just the other day when I changed the oil, I barely got 2 quarts drained out. I find out odd that the V6 would burn off 2 quarts over 4000 miles.
