Default stalling issues on a 98 V6

Trying to fix my dakota without replacing too many parts! Saw some posts about stalling issues, but mine is a little different.

My V6 runs fine at all times, however, the idle is a little rough, needle flutters a little. In particular, if I switch between PARK and DRIVE real quickly the rpm drops and engine stalls. Normally truck is fine in PARK or DRIVE by itself, but today it starting stalling at stop lights. Starts back up and is fine when you give it gas.

Only 66k miles. Well maintained, pcv replaced etc.,. The only notable thing is last winter the truck sat for about 6 months.

Not sure if injectors are dirty (have used some techron cleaner), or old fuel from sitting last year damaged fuel pump, or idle air control valve, etc.,.

Any ideas before I start ripping it apart?

Thanks
John

Unfortunately I don't have an answer for you, but my 03 V6 stalls in reverse some times when the steering wheel is cut. It's just as if you let the clutch out before it grabs - but my truck is an auto!
