Default recall-worthy rear wheel speed sensor???

Alright, after a christmas-like light display from my info center, i took my 03 dak 4x4 to the dealer. they told me the rear wheel speed sensor was broken and replaced it.

I have an extended warranty from daimlerchrysler. i dont know if it will cover this little plastic elbow, AND i need opinions and reports here.

How the hel* does that speed sensor get broken if it is on top of the rear diff and axle??? I live in Oklahoma. We don't have hills in these parts... or anything that could really make you go bump. I drive in the mud when it rains because it's our version of 4x4 "fun." Does mud break these speed sensors?

Has anyone ever had a sensor break? Do you have any proven cause events? I want to get DC warranty people to cover this $ 200 replacement, but my dealer's stating that it was "physically damaged" on the bill does not help.

Also, you can only take DC warranty covered vehicles to the dealers to have them fixed, so, please, no comments about that.
