Default Tech qeustion on engine fan

When you start the truck is the fan post to come on full speed then slow down after a few minutes of running or does it just come on at a slow pace and work its way up as needed (also it does the full speed blast on first start on a cold engine) 2003 dakota 3.9 liter v-6 2wd reg cab. any input appreciated

would say that sounds about right. If your going down the road and you hear a constant roar and it doesnt go away then the clutch is bad.

The fan clutch is thermal, meaning the colder the engine the slower the fan turns, the warmer the more the clutch engages and the faster it turns, it should turn all the time, just various speeds depending on air temp
