Default Better Brakes

I've got a 1999 dakota R/T. The brakes work fine but are not as good as I would like. Does anyone have any suggestions on any upgrades I could get... cross-drilled and slotted rotors. Also, does anybody make a drum to disc conversion for the rear. If so, is it worth it?
Thanks
Dave

The power slot rotors and hawk pads will diffidently help your stopping problems, that would be a good start before you put a conversion kit on the back .

Alright sounds good, is there an advantage to having drilled rotors as opposed to slotted ones? Also, do I only need to buy the new rotors, or do I need some other odds and ends?
Thanks,
Dave

I like the slotted rotor's for street driving and yes you will need a few odds and ends, we can get you everything you need for the install .

One more thing, would it be worth it to buy larger calipers? If so any suggestions on which ones and how much they cost?
Thanks
Dave

IMO, you don't need to spend the extra money on larger calipers the addition of the new rotors and pads will increase your stopping power .

My 98's got two different size caliper bolts on the front end...I'm guessing that's a Used Buyer beware situation. Woulda been good to know before I started that Id need to buy the right tool first[:@]

If you really want to spend a lot of money and get the best stopping power, there's a company that offers a Viper brake conversion for the Dakotas. But for the price, you're better off just buying the Viper and driving that.
