What is that smell?
This has happened twice. My truck smells like leather - just like a baseball glove. It happened once when I was driving from MA to NJ, and again yesterday. The day before yesterday I noticed the coolant level was low, so I added some. The next time I drove it after that I smelled that smell.
Anyone think the missing coolant is related to the smell? It doesn't smell like when my Neon's headgasket was going. The temperate gauge also shows the truck is in the normal temperature range.
This is a 2003 3.9L automatic with just about 47k miles on it.

No, no a/c. The a/c smell that I get the first time each season is a different smell.
I've smelled lots of things... hg, burnt tranny, burning oil, blown hg, exhaust leak... never leather though.
