Default fuel filter

Hi, I'm new to forum and wonder if someone can tell me where the fuel filter is located on a 98 Dodge Dakota.
The truck is sometimes hard to start and sometimes dies in traffic.

eh.. maybe if dodge would make the fuel filter serviceable (oh.. like they are on ford and chevy) people just might not always have this question. but no, they gotta combine the filter and pressure regulator.
so intead of a ~$10 filter, its a $60 regulator, which, oh so convienintly, is located in the fuel tank.
thank you dodge.

Indeed. I am having trouble with the fuel sender, my fuel guage is now almost always giving a false empty. The pump is fine because the engine is running nice and smooth, but the 2000 3.9L fuel sender is part of the pump assembly and it costs about 266.00 at napa. I'm goning to let it go fornow, recheck teh wires and such. But you'd think that dodge could have used american engineers with autoservicing experience to design this stuff [:@]
