Default Shock Questions

Hi all, I have a 2000 Dakota 4.7 SLT, I absolutely love the truck. My question is: What brands of shock absorbers have other people used and what are their expirences with them are? I am personally leaning toward going with some Edelbrock Performer IAS's. Any comments about that? Thanks

I'm running Rancho RSX's. They made a decent improvement over stock at 50k. I went with the Ranchos because I heard they ran a little stiffer.

Just fitted a set of Edlebrocks. I found they firmed things up quite a lot. Almost too much around town but great out on the open road. I certainly go any stiffer. The original fronts were shot after 45,000 miles. These should last a lot longer due to having full gators fitted. Hope this helps.

I used the KYB's on my sportage. That was my daily driver and my off road truck. I loved them and plan to get them again for the dakota. I'm not sure what the differance in weight between the two vehicles is but it cant be that much. They are a great shock and strut and I would recomend them to anyone. There is a listing for the dakota.
