Hi, i just bought a 2002 dakota 3.9. When i start it up, the engine makes a ticking noise that is very noticeable. I have done an oil change, ran some seafoam through the intake, what could this noise be? is it the lifters? the ticking gets a little quieter when im moving at about 40. But the ticking is really bothering me and i want to know what it could be and what i can do to fix the ticking. thanks!!!

 

I had a 94 with a 3.9 the ticking I thought was the lifters and after all the money and tine I found out it was the timing chain this is a common problem on the 3.9s hope this helps.
