Default Clutch Pedal Adjustment?HELP!

I have a problem and its really annoying me. My clutch pedal doesn't engage until almost let all the way out, which leaves almost no room for gradually taking off or smooth shifting. I just bought the truck. If anyone can let me know if there is an adjustment or where I can find a how-to article to adjust this please let me know. Thanks alot.

i have the same problem
it's not adjustable, the clutch is getting old
my sister had the same thing in her el camino she had to get the clutch replaced
you're gonna have to do it too. eventually
i'm gonna need to do it in couple weeks
as for smooth shifting you could learn to shift without the pedal
saves the wear and tear

My clutch is the same way, and the dealership i bought it from said that the clutch was adjustable...they lied. It is really hard to shift smoothly but I just dont have the money right now to pay 800 bucks for a new clutch. As for shifting without the pedal...what does tha mean? I am pretty sure you need to have the clutch in when you shift gears....?

all you gotta do is get the RPM's and speed right and you can change gears, because the gears line up right and slip together

So does anyone have any idea of how to get it to engage lower/more smoothly? I was sort of banking on the idea that it would help when i got a new clutch this summer...

Its when you match engine speed with trans speed. All teh clutch does is disengage teh trans from teh engine so teh gears will mesh.

Done wrong, or done improperly over time, you WILL screw your tranny up.

you should get it checked, It should solve itself with a new clutch, i just doublechecked and there still is no way to actually adjust the pedal
