I own a 98' Dodge Dakota Club Cab 5.2L V8 Magnum 4x4, Ive been to other sites and it seems the reviews of this truck are either they love it cuz its extremely reliable or they hate it because it isnt. I recently pruchased this truck 6 months ago and LOVE IT TO DEATH!!!!!!!! But Id still like some feedback on how well these trucks hold up to high mileage and time. And if there is anything besides regular maintanence and check-ups that will help my truck last longer in good engine health. I appreciate the help, thanks.

A little FYI, in case ya didn't know, the 3.9L V-6 is pretty much a 5.2L V-8 minus 2 cylinders.
Theres a guy on there whos got 218K on his 5.2.
Theres a guy with 247K on his 3.9.
Like MIKESERSPECV14.8 said, these trucks will last forever, which is much more than can be said of their Chevy and Ford counterparts. Just take care of her, and she'll treat ya well.

 

YEAH THE EXTERIOR IS THE SAME BUT THE POWER UOTPUT AND TORQUE CURVE ARE EXTREMELY DIFFERENT. THE 3.9 V6 HAS NOTHING EVEN CLOSE TO THE TORQUE POWERBAND AT 2500 RPMS THAT THE 5.2 LITRE HAS, HELL THE 5.9 LITRE SPORT EDITION STILL DOESNT HAVE THE TORQUE POWERBAND THE 5.2 HAS. IN MY OPINION THE 5.2 IS THE BEST ENGINE THEY PUT IN ANY 2ND GEN DAKOTA, HANDS DOWN
