I have a 99 dakota R/T and Im thinking about doing nitrous, and i wanted to ask some questions before I go ahead and get it done.

1. Whats the highest shot I can use safely w/o harming my motor? (its stock)
2. Should I run a lower shot on street then I would at the track? or should I run it all the same?
3. Anybody who has it done, if you could tell me what you run yours at and what you paid for the set up + install that would be great.

i wouldn't go any higher than 150 at the track
100 would be sufficiant for street use,
i wouldn't use it much with a stock engine tho
plan on upgrading around the heads in the near future if you run nitrous

Bigger thing to look at is find out if its illegal in your state to even have hooked up while on the street. Tickets for it arent exactly cheap (at least here).

 

oh ok, I live in Delaware and as far as I know its legal, with a stock engine could I run a 75 shot safely?....I would upgrade the heads down the road but dont exactly have that kinda money right now :/

 

Well you really need to look it up before you buy one. In WI you can get up to a $500 ticket just for having it hooked up on the street. You can have it in the car, but not hooked up. I've been hearing arizona is real nasty about this too. Also some areas also have laws against people under certain ages from even posessing it.


I dont think 75 would hurt anything.
