Default Transmission Leak - Help!

Hi all.....I've got a 4x4 Dakota.....almost 85,000 miles.....had it in to the dealership to have them service the transmission and transfer case (not b/c there was anything wrong w/ it, they recommended it)......well, a few weeks later, I notice that it's leaking tranny fluid, and worst of all, I had it parked overnight on approx. 10 degree slope driveway, and when I backed my truck out, there was a 5 inch by 12 inch stain - transmission fluid! I took it back to the dealer, they said the rear tranny output shaft seal is leaking.....what do I do? Could the tranny fluid been overfilled, causing a seal to fail - what do you guys think? I checked under the truck, and traced the leak back to the tranny, so it may be the seal that they mention, but I find it incredibly ironic that for 80,000 miles, no leak, and now it leaks every day AFTER the dealer serviced it......am I wrong to be suspicious? How do I go about rectifiying this? I'm considering issuing a complaint to the Bureau of Auto Repair, especially since they refuse to do anything now - most importantly due to the fact that at the time they serviced the vehicle, they made no mention of a leak.....

I guess you learned if it ain't broke don't fix it. Anyway I would deffinetly raise a stink with the dealer. It could have been something they did. I know the machine they use to change fluid pushes the old out as it puts new in. They could have blown the seal changing the fluid. Any reputable dealer should fix it, they can't prove if they did it or not however, maybe they will work a deal, you by the parts they do the labor. If you have a local competitor dealer in the area (two Dodge Dealers) they might fix it as well if you tell them what a crapy job the other did. With the price of fuel most dealers bend over backwards for their truck owners. Good Luck.
