Default Rear Speaker Access

Just purchased a new Sony head unit and 6.5" Blaupunkt speakers to go all the way around. I know the front speakers will be a snap but how about the rears? It looks like there is a lot there to remove to gain access. What's the best process to get at the rear speakers? What should I watch out for?

you'll need a t50 torx bit to undo the seatbelts. first get a panel puller/prybar to get the back cusions out. then undo the seatbelt buckles on the window panel and remove. you should then be able to pull the panels that cover the rear speakers. also take note of how much empty space is below the rear speakers inside the wall... good place to hide crossovers, backup sirens/batteries, and even amps.

once you've seen how the back area comes apart, it can be undone in less than 30 minutes. this is also the procedure for pulling the tooltray under the back seats.

Main thing with pulling any interior trim piece is to find and remove all bolts/screws that attach the panel, and the use a panel popper to pop the clips out as close to the clip as possible. If you can stradle the clip with your panel popper they are less likely to break. Slow steady pressure will ensure that the clip releases without the plastic breaking.
