check engine light came on after i was at my cottage and backed into something and bent my exhaust i bent it back myself by heating it up is the check engine light on because of the
back pressure suddenly changing or possibly an o2 sensor going on
it? any one able to help? possibly have a code reader? email back if u can

Most auto parts stores can pull codes for free, not sure about up there in Canada if they do or not.
My guess is that you may have damaged the wiring for an O2 if the exhaust was pushed around too much. Pull the code and see what it says, or just crawl under and check all of the wiring to the O2s
