01' quad cab with a 5.9?
I've got an '01 quad cab with the 4.7L V8 2wd automatic trans. I want to make my truck very fast. Any one know how possible exchanging my engine with the 5.9L R/T engine would be? I like having the quad cab which was not available on the R/T, but want the speed of one. At the same time I would likely overhaul the rest of the truck with performance parts to match.
Thanks for your input.

might be easier/cheaper to just slap a supercharger on your existing motor and do a computer upgrade

with headers and exhaust it put down 296hp and 329 ft/lb at the wheels

I went to the Kenne Bell site to search for a kit available for my 01 QC 4x4 but they only list kits for the 99-00 4.7's, does anybody know of a kit for my 01?

The interesting thing is that unless I'm mistaken, the 4.7 was only available in the Grand Cherokee back in 99. The Dakota had the 2.5, 3.9, 5.2, and 5.9 available that year. Why KB has the 4.7 listed for 99-00 is just odd.

As for the power options, a S/C would be a better way of going....as the engine swap is just a lot of time, energy, and money for a little more power. My 01 Clubcab 4.7L V8 wasnt losing to the R/T models by much.....and depending on the launch....I won a few...
The 5.9L was available in the clubcabs after 2002.....so you could swap in a 5.9L....but its really not worth the money or hassle.....
