Default Performance help??

Hey guys and gals Im new to the site , I just picked up a 2002 Dodge dakota R/T and was wondering what the best ways to get more performance out of it.

Well I was thinking air intake , headers and exhaust for now but my problem is choosing the company.
Can anyone chime in and let me know if I would be making a bad choice by going with Gibson for headers and either AEM / K&N for my intake.(magnaflow for exhaust or can someone tell me other)

thanx

no experience with the specific headers you speak of but gibson has a good reputation. and i bet anything is better then stock manifolds

Stock manifolds actually aren't too bad, shorty headers are good for about 10 hp, which isn't something you're going to feel, but it all adds up so you might as well start somewhere.

I'm not familiar with the Gibson headers, I went with Edelbrock for some reason and I was really impressed with the hardware kit that came with them. The graphite gaskets can't be beat.

See I'm still new to the R/T like I have a 2000 Mercury Cougar so I no about alot of parts that are like cheap knock offs anf such thats why I ask like for the cougar Weapon R are a knock off of MSDS headers but with the WR you need to re route the oxygen sensor.

So I thought I would ask more about this stuff here Because Im sure right now you guys no more then me
