I gotta 2002 dodge dakota sport 4.7L Magnum V8, I went to the strip last night its an automatic, I beleive the tranny is a 45RFE? Well anyway, I started out in second gear bc it shifts up from first to second. I ran a 16.2 overall and my 60' wasnt bad. But once i hit i 2nd gear it just seemed like it went on forever. I just wanna know what i can do to get more torque shorter gears and a better 60'. I cant stage it any higher than 1500RPMs anything after that it starts to spin... How would get a better launch? I want torque! LOL Anybody else encounter this?

sounds like you know exactly what you need to do - swap in some 3.92 or 4.11 gears
