Need advice
i have the oppertunity to get a 2001 dodge dakota. 4.7, 4x4, power everything. heres the catch, it has 400. yes 400,000 kms.
i drive a 93 dakota right now with the 318, it has 260,000km and the engine is still great. bulletproof 318. but i have no idea on these newer dakotas, he told me he replaced 4 shocks, 2 ball joints, and it needs two 02 sensors. he wants 7 grand obo.
i dont know if i should jump all over, but i need a new vehicle. and these things start at 15 grandish.
the body is still pretty good, knock on wood. transfer case is good. im gonna take a test drive on monday, but id like to hear some opinions first, thanks

RE: Need advice
way too many miles for that much money. i would keep looking. for all of you non metric friendly people 400,000km is 248k miles.
i bought a 1999 dakota 4x4 with a 5.2 with the SLT package with only 50k miles on it, flawless condition for $10k american dollars. its blue book was just around 11k so it wasnt a smoking deal but it was exactly what i wanted.
just for example i searched www.Kbb.com for dodge dakotas between 1999-2002 for under $9k and came back with like 25 results. heres one

you can do better, just have cash in hand and be patient. and craigslist is your friend
