The muffler itself costs about $70-85 for a 40 Series (they make a bunch of different kinds, Delta Flow, Super 40, regular, etc) and install shouldn't take them more than an hour.

I have had a Flowmaster 40 put on both my Dakota's each time I just had them replaced the stock muffler and put on a nice looking chrome tip, no adding a second pipe or making it bigger but clean and simple the result was great sound and performace, one was a V6 and one was a V8 both installed with tip added were about 150.00 plus tax, with out a tip it would of been about 125.00.

One place I talked to wouldn't give me a quote at all, just told me to come in. The other guy recommended a Magnaflow because of the lifetime warranty. He told me if I were to go with Flowmaster to try to 50 series as it is more quiet. I don't want it to be too loud. He told me both would run about 160 parts + labor.
I live in Oregon, I don't know about the price differeces for states, btu that doesn't seem too bad. Everything here is expensive. Bad inflation

Usually shift around 7-8K. If I'm in a particularly festive mood, 13K.




Oh wait, thats the bike....


I dont watch the tach. I just shift where the truck starts to lose some power. Its a feel thing. Also it comes with experience.

In my 2003 it has 1 of those stuped shift lights for optinum fuel efficentcy and it wants you to shift around 1750-1800 rpms i tend to shift around 1900 - 2000 rpms unless im free way merging on a busy day then ill go to 2500 rpms if needed lol since the truck main power is over 200rpms and anything less you put putting in the 3.9. Heck my buddy got the 40 series flowmaster on his 2000 durango he did it himself all he need was a hack saw and a screw driver to pop the olf muffelr out of its holders. He also needed a pipe extension but his was a slip over so far no problems and sounded great did it all for about 110 bucks got the muffer of ebay.
