Default cold air intake

I have a 02 slt v6 3.9 and I am thinkin about getting a cold air intake. What is the best place to find one for a good price online ? Also can you really tell a difference when you have it? does it add alot of HP?

I am very pleased with mine, I got an Airaid kit online and checked around for prices found the best at http:\\www.airaidsales.com
I got both power and gas mileage out of the install and it sounds great too.

I would agree that AirRaid is a good choice, I have one on my R/T that works very well.

I really don't think you would hear it working, as much as feel it. But, it will be hard to feel it, as the performance boost will be minimal untill you upgrade your exhaust. If your bring more air in, you need to get more air out.

Did you get the "Full Kit" with that replaces the silencer part when that is replaced you can hear it.....when you floor it you hear the intake taking in air and it is very distinct sounding unless you just got the drop in filter replacement.

Ah mine is a bit different being it is for a 04 4.7 but I would think you get the same sound I do not sure why ya don't......mine installs over the stock box maybe that is why.

my CAI was cobbled together from a 360 intakez (no longer produced). using the stock airhat with a reducer hose and the rest of the 360 kit. definitely felt some more kick outta my 3.9. previous performance mods were v8 tb, 180 thermostat and superchips 3715.

in general, a CAI for a 5.2(318) and 5.9(360) will work on the 3.9; but there may be slight fitment issues with the intake tube because the v8's (5.2/5.9) throttle body sits a little closer to the radiator than the 3.9
