Default Code P1698 2002 Dodge Dakota 4x4 4.7L V8

I need help figuring out what P1698 means. Someone told me it correlates to CCD J/1850? I don't know what that would mean either. I keep blowing my PRNDL switch fuse on my 02 dakota. I replace it and it blows when I start truck. And the emissions/check engine light has come on and remains on. Definitely lagging in power as well. Stopped driving it until I know what's up. Could it be a faulty transmission range sensor? We checked the wiring from what we could see it appeared ok. Any help out there? Also the transmission indicator light is not on either/working.

I cant really give you an answer but this is what I found the error code to mean. P1698 No messages received from the electronic transmission control module or the Aisin transmission controller. I don't really know what that means either bit I hope this helps.

start crawling around your tranny, sounds like a wiring harness or circuit board has toasted.
