well... yesterday I was driving down a side street doing about 30km when this old guy in front of me desides to slam on his brakes and by the time I did, I crashed into him. I get out to look at my truck and all I could see was a big puddle of coolant on the ground, and a bit of front end damage. his car was a mess, I slid up his back bumper and took out his trunk. then he phones the police and then I get charged with careless driving. I think that is ****in stupid. I'm gonna take it to court and fight it. so I got my truck towed to AL's autobody and there gonna get it appraised and call me back in a couple days.
the only good thing about it is theat my a/c quit working acouple weeks ago and I told them it worked before the accident.
I'll post some pics when I get time to download them on the computer.

You've gotta leave enough room for stupidasses in front of you. I try my hardest to keep them far enough away to give me enough time to brake. You can't see everything that the person in front of you sees either could've been something as small as a kid's ball going out in the street ya know? Not saying that he had any reason to stop but people suck and you rearended him and that's all the law looks at...

 

ya but I can see a following too close but not a careless. anyway, i go to court in a couple of months so i'll see what they say.
I think i'm gonna put an aftermarket grill and bumpercover on now. all I have to pay is the difference in price from the stock parts. I think im gonna go with a streetscene bumpercover and a speed grill inserts.

sucks to rear end somebody. no matter what the bull shot reason the person infront of u stopped, unfortunitly u pay. I was with my brother in his 300m special cruisen down 69 hwy& some guy cut over from the on ramp(cut us off) so my bro flashed his brights and jackass slamed on his brakes causing a 3 car accident. according to police it wasn't his fault. so don't let people infront of u or leave plenty of room. trucks don't stop worth a dam anyways, so how did u hit an old man going that slow?

 

well... I was going down by the river and there is a buch of parking spots on the side of the road. (they are the ones that you just drive into). so I was following the old guy and I guess he found a spot at the last minute and slammed on his brakes. I know I was following too close, so now I leave lots of room. you never know whats gonna happen. i guess you allways have to learn stuff the hardway.
So while my truck is in the body shop I brought out my old 88 dakota, which I had $900 for a rental on my insurance and since im not 25 im only 21 they will not give me one. so I was driving my old truck yesterday and I was just on my way home and the stupid thing dies. and I cannot get it to start at all. it will start for a bout 5 seconds if you dump gas down the throttle body then it will back fire and die. I have such bad luck. atleast I was only 5 blocks away so it wasnt that much to walk. as for the truck I just left it on the side of the road because I was too pissed off least night. now since I got drunk enought last night I'm a bit calmer so I will try to start it today.

I finally heard back from the body shop. It was $3,380.52 in damages! I never thought it would be that much. I guess stock stuff is expensive. so I decided to go with a aftermarket bumper and foglights, and grill inserts. the only thing is I have to pay the difference on the bumpercover and the foglights. so it worked out to be $400. they said I sould get the truck back by the end of next week if the parts come in on time. I cant wait!

I know what you mean I was kind of blown away when mine went over the 8k mark but when it was done I could see about 50% of the cost is labor so if you think about that is not to bad.....only suggestion I can make is once they do the teardown go by the body shop and make sure you agree to what they are looking to fix mine ended up with 4 supplements after the teardown which means as things went along both they and I found things that needed to be done that was part of the accident and you can rest assured your insurance company is not going to spend one penny more than you make them getting your truck back to "before the accident" shape unless you are proactive....post your after photos please.

 

Body shops really make a killing. When my 05 neon got hit in the front end (front bumper only) The bill was $1130 bucks. I only had to pay $250 because it was a hit and run.
