Default no code

i've been chasing a misfire in my 3.9 for the last couple months. last week i needed to burb my cooling system and the misfires i've been having didn't go away but were not as severe. along with this last week being cooler. i know my problem is related to temp somewhere in my engine but where? i checked my ambient air temp sens and compared it to the cooling temp sens. both were close 6.43K and 6.54K ohms. my battery temp was at 8.5K ohms. the temp was around 85F so everything appears normal. its just when the engine is warming up that my dakota misfires. i used to get the P0300 code but not anymore. if i go through and disconnect the sensors it shows that but not misfires.
does anybody have a clue as to what triggers the system to begin looking for the misfire? or have had the same problem and know the fix?
please help me!!!!!
