New Dak in the yard
I just drove my "new" to me DAK 4X4 sport 5.2 1100 miles home. It is in great shape with only 68000 miles. the only issue I had on the drive was the serpentine belt started squeeking on me after about 400 miles. Thanks to an all night Advance auto parts in, Salem Va., it was no prob.
What maintenance should I be doing on a 68000 mile DAK? Are there any recalls on this model? When I turn to the right at interstate speeds there seems to be a vibration in the steering column, it dosen't happen when turning to the left or when going slower. Any ideas on this? I do not know what kind of oil was being used in this truck (natural\synthetic). Does anyone know of a way to tell? If I can't what type should I use?

You can always upgrade to synthetic but never back down to regular if I have been informed correctly on here. One problem with synthetics is that they have smaller molecules that can squeeze through your seals easier and start leaking. I personally have had no such problem myself. I use quaker state 5w30 full synthetic. I figured I might as well go for the extra $1.00-1.50 it costs to get the best synthetic. If you are big on changing the air filter just about every 3k miles expect to pay $45.00 or so on an oil change if you do it yourself. I change my oil every 3k miles regardless of what the oil can handle for the simple fact that oil filters can only handle 3k.
