Default Missing Bolt on Rear Differential - Size?

Hi. I've got a 98 Dakota with the 2.5L engine and 5 speed manual transmission. Just recently I had the ABS and brake warning lights come on the dash, and the speedometer needle started jumping around. From this forum, I discovered the likely culprit is the sensor located on the rear differential. While under the truck today, I noticed that someone in the past had removed this particular sensor for whatever reason and cut the wires leading to it, twisted the cut ends together, and then reinstalled the sensor. However, the bolt which holds the sensor onto the differential is missing and I need to install a new one. Can someone tell me what size bolt goes in there? I don't have a collection of metric-sized bolts to stick in there, and the nearest Dodge dealership to me is 50 miles away. I need to know the bolt size, pitch, thread, shank size, etc. Someone have any ideas? Thanks!!

Can't really help ya with that info.
Luckily, its the top bolt, and you can drive the vehicle without it. As an option, you could always drill a new hole for a size bolt you have. (I was doing my rear-axle service and broke the bottom bolt while it was in the threaded portion. I had to extract the threaded portion, and, when I could not find a new bolt of the same thread/length, just drilled a new hole that a bolt we had fit).
You can try your local hardware store, but, I did an online search for some of the most popular, and you must live in the middle of nowhere!

My plan is to go to a local hardware store and get a bolt to finish the job, but I didn't want to keep going in and out of the store, trying different sizes, lengths, etc. Maybe I'll just grab a handful of bolts and crawl under the truck and get it done. Thanks for the info! And yes, I do live in the middle of nowhere
