If you have the 5.9L everything. The R/T is basically the same truck just a little bit more sport tuned.

The R/T came with AWD, different heads, camshaft, and a more agressive tune.
horatio102<----- Durango's are bigger in weight. But they are fraternal twins. I think what Green is talking about is that a lot of Dakota owner's don't look at the Durango as a twin, they only like to be in the class of the full sized trucks. All in all I'll put my Durango up against anything out there.

RE: LSD
So you could take the awd from a Durango R/Tand make your Dakota a real road rippin machine eh..........
That would kick ***. I wonder if I could manage something like that on my 92......hmmmmmmmm.
My truck is 2wd. I hate the rear diff in there now. It transfers the power from the wheels that grip to the wheels that slip. Makes nice for the winter driving. (if you couldn't tell that was my feeble attempt at sarcasm)

I thought about getting a Durango back in '99 but the parts-bin sharing turned me off of them, so I got a Grand cherokee instead. That and I like solid front axles. I wish my Dakota had one.

R/T's had the same heads, R/T heads were never put on production vehicles. I believe the cam is the same as all other 5.9's as well. The power gains were done through ECM and exhaust work, which is why the R/T only puts out about 5hp and 10 lb-ft more power than a normal 5.9 Dakota. R/T Dakotas weren't AWD either, only the Durangos.

The Durango were the only ones that did the AWD.
