Default Somebody Please Clear the 33" tire question up for me!!!!

I have a 1999 Dakota SLT with a 3" body lift. I ve heard of some ppl having problems with running 33's on stock rims, and Ive heard of some ppl having no problems. Will someone with some actual experience with this please help me. Right now I have 31x10.5x15's. I want to go with something like 33x10.5x15. Will they rub when the wheel is turned? If they do can I put 32x11.5x15 on stock rims if the tire is 1" wider? Thanks guys.

They will rub without minor mod's. A little trimming should clear it right up though. There is a guy on here with a 3" BL and 33" BFG A/T T/A KO's and he rubs a little when he turns the wheel all the way to the left or right.

The guy you speak of with 33's-does he get rubbing on the frame or is it just the plastic fender walls that can be trimmed?

I am pretty sure it's on his frame he has already done his trimming. You will not get the rubbing if you just don't crank all the way left or right. Otherwise you would have to hack into the frame and then fab up supports for it. No fun...

I have 33x12.5x15's on my 2000 with a 3" Body Lift. The only rubbing was on the lower bumper plastic, and that was only because I didn't check the alignment of the bumper when putting the bumper relocation brackets on.

check back earlier in the forum and you can see pics of my 99 2wd with 33x12.5x15 bfg's. i encountered severe rubbing with my 3" front suspension lift until i moved to aftermarket wheels and hub extenders. i now only rub the frame when turned fully left or right after minor trimming of front plastic bottom grill and lower bottom of the fron quarterpanels.
