How can I tell what rear gear I have? 1998 4x4 club cab 5.2.

my truck didn't come with a manual... rednecks must have owned it before or somthing

 

Duh, its a vehicle identification STICKER in the glove box, not the owner's manual. It should have something like "DMH - axle ratio 3.92". If you have a posi rear, you should have a code like "DSA - anti spin rear axle" . By the way, I'm a redneck, actually graduated from college and make a 6 figure salary. In the South, that's considered pretty darn successful. So I'm not sure what your shot about a redneck owning it is suppose to mean!! At least this redneck knew where the flippin axle info was on his own truck!

Redneck=duh+southern no other equations equal redneck LOL. I grew up in the south but I'm not a redneck. Look at Britney Spears now there's a redneck...
