Default Noob R/T questions!

ok guys, first time to own a dodge. picking up a 1998 dakota r/t club cab with 65k on it. i have a few questions though. It has edelbrock LT headers, ORY, Flowtech muffler. I want to switch out the muffler though, what would you guys recommend? something that's not going to cost a fortune of course Also, what weight oil should i use? I need a new hood ornament as well as someone stole it. where would i pick one up at? anything else you guys want to add will be appreciated!

Nathan

Take Lil's advice and go with the 40 series Flowmaster.

I'd suggest the Flowmaster 40. It has a real deep and load tone. 10W-30, like mean green said.

2000 Dodge Dakota 5.9 R/T, Amber Fire and Black, Regular Cab, Modifications: Intense Performance Nascar cone intake, Hughes Stage II ported Intake Manifold, Hughes 52mm billet Throttle Body, MSD, Stage II Jet ECU, PPH ceramic coated headers, Cat deleted ooops, Flowmaster 40>L.A.H., Mopar 2800 RPM stall speed converter, Shift Kit, Moroso transmission cooler, 3.92 Sure Grip, Stock R/T 17's with Nitto 555R 315/35/17's on rear. NX Express Nitrous set-up, with jets from 50,75,100,125,and 150 HP. Best 1/8th mile to date is 8.11.

thanks guys. so is the 40 series a real good flowing muffler? because ive owned ls1 z28's before....and the flowmaster always sounded good, but was a bad choice muffler because it didn't allow much airflow..
