lost compression
i had the timing chain replaced i wk. ago, after it was finished my 3.9 misses, has 0 compression in number2 cyl.145 in the others. and suddenly developed a light knock in number 6 cyl.this motor has only 28,000 miles and was built at barker machine in texas, its a 1992. i have been told the mechanic lol could have it timed wrong causing no compression.he also poured water down my intake to losen carbon deposists he said. whats up any suggestions need help.i am in topeka ks--the work was done in great bend.thanks
water for carbon deposits eh? did this same guy tell you to put in your gas tank for better fuel economy? the water in the intake kinda scares me! try using a little starter fluid now and then to really heat things up!
Have you tried pulling codes to see what the computor says? I've also heard about spraying water in a carb (not fuel injection). The idea is the water hits the carbon, cooling and cracking it up into particles which are exhausted out of the cylinder. Not sure how well this would work with an injected engine. I wouldn't try it.
