Default durango to dakota?????

my neighbor got rear-ended in his durango this weekend. its a 2002 with a 5.9, is the durango motor any different than the dakota? will the durango computer work in the dakota? my dakota is also a 2002 and his insurance company asked him a if he wanted to buy his vehicle back for $1200. it only has 31,000 miles and he is a old guy so the motor is practically new. is this swap possible?

no you would want the computer from the durango. what ever motor you're going to use you want to use that computer.

make sure the motor is the same size. if it is, then check the pins from the dakota to durango. if you have less pins on a dakota then you do on a durango, it might be sensors such as the rear doors on a durango, if you have a short cab dakota. get an electrical diagram for both and just sit down and take a look. you should be able to answer your own question very quickly.
